Please follow these steps carefully prior to your surgery to help ensure your procedure goes as smoothly as possible.
Fill out One Medical Passport as early as possible so your medical history can be reviewed. It is important to complete your history 24 to 48 hours after scheduling your procedure.
You will also find important information in our Patient Center.
Contact your surgery center prior to your surgery if:
- You experience any changes in your health between your most recent visit with your physician and the day of your procedure, even minor ones like a temperature, cough or a cold.
- You suspect that you are pregnant. Anesthesia and medication may be harmful to a developing fetus.
- You have allergies to latex or metal
- You have a new onset of diabetes, heart conditions, kidney or liver failure
After midnight, the night before your surgery:
- Do not smoke after midnight the day of your surgery.
- Do not eat anything (including gum, mints, hard candy) after midnight the day of your surgery. Undigested food in the stomach can cause complications and your surgery is likely to be postponed.
- Small sips of water are OK up to 4 hours prior to your arrival time. (water only, do not drink large glasses)
